Description:
This rare and beautiful Parsienne is in exceptional condition throughout!
It is one of only 3 RHD Parsiennes built for export to Australia! However this one never made it over and now resides in the UK, with only two owners since new.
The Pontiac Parisienne is a full-size rear-wheel drive vehicle that was sold by Pontiac on the GM B platform in Canada from 1958 to 1986 and in the US from 1983 to 1986. Righthand drive Pontiac Parisiennes and were manufactured in extremely small numbers in Canada for export to countries such as Australia until 1969. This was one such car. Bound for Australia, it made it as far as Southampton from where it was bought and taken to Wales and used sparingly for most of its life.
The car was discovered four years after the death of the first owner and bought from his son in 2001 from which time it has become a painstaking project of perfection.
Bought as a rolling restoration, we have many photographs of the works undertaken including a full bare-metal restoration using all lead and metal to rebuild the necessary sections of the car. Special attention was made to create the accurate scallop sections on the sides of the vehicle. After a spend in excess of £7,500 in heavy work, a further £8,000 has been spent in the last 8 months alone to complete the detail sections of the car. Lance McCormack of The Romance of Rust in Ealing West London was brought on board to complete most of these works to his trademark exacting standards.
The interior of the car is in very complete order and finished to a high quality with electric windows and power hood. Using as many original parts as possible the seats have been re-sprung and re-upholstered in snappy White with red leather to compliment the off-white coachwork at a cost of some £2,000.
This exceptionally low mileage example, believed to be original also boasts new door cards and carpets throughout, including the boot floor, new wheels and tyres, brand new power hood, and has recently received the thumbs-up from Bob Harman Performance Ltd in Watford following a more than £600 full service to include stripping, cleaning and reassembling the carburetor, changing fluids in the gearbox and bleed and refill the cooling system. Further to these works, the history file also documents receipts for a new exhaust system and coil springs.
All told, this very special Parisienne is offered in outstanding condition with some extra special touches such as original owners` manual in mint condition, sales brochure for the Pontiac range in 1967, Master Parts Book and Chassis Shop Manuals from Pontiac in period. This very special car is to be sold with V5C Registration certificate, one MOT test certificate, and accompanying documentation in the history file.
Manufactured in 1967 but is a 1968 model.
